| Aztec Ruggers Reap Representative Honors in 2010 |

The Summer of 2010 has already been a rewarding summer for many Aztec Ruggers, who have gone on to be selected for numerous representative and international honors.
In late May, Senior Fullback Alex Ross was selected for the USA National Sevens team to play in London and Scotland where he performed admirably in his country’s colors. No less then nine 2010 Aztecs played for the Southern California Griffins in the Collegiate National All-Star Championships in Denver in June, helping the Griffins to a 3rd place finish. The Griffins included Seniors Brendan Purcell, Darrell Honaker, David Buboltz, Scott Brown, Alex Main, and Alex Ross, as well as Junior Jamie Purcell, Mike Hicks, and Chris Bredeson. Following the tournament USA Rugby named its 2010 All-American Team, selected for their performance at the All Star Tournament and performance throughout the 2010 season. Two Aztecs were selected All-Americans (Senior Alex Ross and Junior Duncan Kelm) and four Aztecs were give Honorable Mention All-American honors (Seniors Brendan Purcell, Darrell Honaker, and David Buboltz and Junior Chris Bredeson). Competing this June was also the USA U-20 National Team, two Aztecs are currently competing for the U20 team: Sophmore Hooker/Center Jamie Hybrid Kelm and Sophmore Prop Morgan Gagel. Lastly, Duncan Kelm was also recently selected to join the senior National Team, currently competiting in the Churchill Cup against England, Russia, France, Canada, and Uruguay. |
