Riverside, CA
Playing a man down the Aztecs started slow and UCR took advantage of missed tackles and scored three tries in the first 20 minutes to take a 17-0 lead. Midway through the first half the Aztecs suffered another setback when prop Sebastian Hernandez had to leave the game with an ankle injury. With 13 guys left on the field, SDSU didn't quit and started making tackles behind the gain line. This pressure turned into points when lock Kyle McSpadden took a quick tap from five meters out and scored the Aztecs first try. Right before halftime wing Bren Winbrock dotted down for the Aztecs and the score was 17-12 Riverside at the break. |
